Abstract

Issues of poverty, hunger, and economic growth pose challenges to sustainable development through the role of Islamic finance technology in supporting fair and equitable inclusion. The study aims to analyze the digital transformation of Islamic finance in accelerating sustainable economic development in countries included in the Global Islamic Fintech (GIFT) Index Report 2024/25. The research was conducted qualitatively with a literature review referring to previous research with sources from reputable international indexed articles, books, news, official annual reports, and institutional websites. The findings show that in five countries with sharia peer-to-peer financing, sharia digital banks, and digital zakat waqf are considered more effective in overcoming poverty (SDGs1) in supporting consumptive financing. Addressing hunger and food security (SDGs2) through the role of fintech in supporting the agricultural sector, supply chains, the industrial sector, and SMEs. The role of Sharia crowdfunding fintech, smart sukuk, and wakaf chain tends to be suitable for financing the SME and industrial sectors, innovation and renewable technology, and infrastructure development that supports job creation and economic growth (SDGs8). Islamic fintech as an alternative to improve financial inclusion through financing to address socio-economic issues such as poverty, food security, and economic growth. In future research, systematic research can be encouraged through statistical measurements and SWOT analysis related to this topic.
