The Implementation of Artificial Intelligence in Zakat Management Institution : Advantages and Challenges
Abstract
The development of technology, especially Artificial Intelligence (AI) opens up opportunities for transformation in zakat management by zakat institutions. This study examines the opportunities for using AI in zakat institutions. This study uses a qualitative method with primary sources derived from in-depth interviews with information technology experts and zakat experts. Secondary sources come from journal analysis and previous research. The results of the study show that zakat institutions face challenges in collecting funds and distributing them to the community. Also, zakat institutions must comply with Islamic sharia in their operations. To face these challenges, zakat institutions need to use efficient and effective information technology. By comparing the advantages and challenges faced, the results of the study show that the application of AI in zakat institutions has many benefits. Among them, donation prediction and muzaki segmentation, mustahik mapping, chatbots for muzaki services, distribution analytics and reports, and anomaly and fraud detection.
