The main framework developed in virtue ethics focuses on how character virtues can shape a good life, treat oneself and others correctly, and build a peaceful community. Thus, diversity management is the way the state regulates communities of citizens who represent certain religious identities and also the relationships between other communities. This study uses a qualitative research method with an interdisciplinary approach that integrates the concepts of ethics, sociology of religion, and critical hermeneutics. In this research method, the author constructs the idea of freedom of religion or belief as a public virtue based on virtue ethics in diversity management, specifically religion or belief. This study finds: first, freedom of religion or belief is a form of public virtue; second, virtue is a character trait that must be evident in the habitual actions of individuals and communities in the public sphere. These traits and characteristics form the basis of moral character within a community. Values such as tolerance, respect for the rights of religious freedom, and solidarity among religious communities are lived out in society or communities; third, virtuous activities are activities that are characteristic of religious or belief communities.
2025-12-29T05:39:54+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/834 Implementation of Islamic Religious Education in the Formation of Religious Culture and Self-Regulated Learning High School Students at the Driving School 2025-12-29T05:48:14+07:00 Sri Rokhmiyati [email protected] Rahmat Hariyadi [email protected] Kastolani Kastolani [email protected] Niala Nailus Salwa [email protected]
This research aims to implement Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in the formation of religious culture and self-regulated learning High school students in the School Mover Program. This study uses a qualitative approach with observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and documentation to gain a comprehensive understanding of the application of religious values and their influence on character and self-regulated learning students. Data analysis was conducted thematically with the help of NVivo Plus 12 software, which was used for coding, categorization, theme mapping, and visualization of relationship patterns between findings, thereby increasing precision and accuracy in interpreting qualitative data. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of Islamic Religious Education in the driving schools was effective through the instillation of religious values such as honesty, discipline, responsibility, and tolerance. These values were integrated through routine religious activities, teacher role models, and moral inculcation in daily school interactions. Collaboration between the principal, teachers, and the school community was a key factor in building religious culture holistic. The implementation of PAI has been proven to improve self-regulated learning students, as seen from the increased ability of students to manage time, set learning goals, monitor academic behavior, and make independent decisions. In conclusion, the implementation of Islamic Religious Education makes a significant contribution to the formation of religious culture and improvement self-regulated learning students, and support the achievement of the Pancasila Student Profile character. Religion and politics, due to their very nature as social institutions, cannot be separated but must be precisely analysed in a binary perspective. Sociologically, the relationship between these two institutions can take two extreme forms. By nature, religion tends to contribute to society in civilization. By choice, religion can manifest its contribution to society in two ways, either domination or periphery. More specifically on peace studies, therefore, the genealogical problem goes straight to the very peaceful aspect of religion – that is characterized by the esoteric mysticism of religion. As every single religion has its own internal plurality, institutional religion has proved itself to deliver its peaceful aspect to the society. In Indonesia, the existence of “cultural Islam” is often considered as an anti-thesis toward “political Islam”. An indirect logic from this stipulation refers to a possibility that “cultural Islam” has been more successful in delivering the peaceful aspect of Islam rather than “political Islam”. This article aims to take a deeper look at Islam as a mass religion in the Indonesian politics, especially in its politicizing peaceful aspect to the wider community.
2025-12-29T05:49:40+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/841 Nationalism and Social Responsibility Values in Pesantren Life, Challenges of Wasathiyah Islam Among Multi Ethnic StudentNationalism and Social Responsibility Values in Pesantren Life, Challenges of Wasathiyah Islam Among Multi Ethnic Student 2025-12-29T05:51:42+07:00 Mohammad Roisul Ashdaq [email protected] Sa'adi Sa'adi [email protected] Safinatul Fitriah [email protected]
The purpose of this study is to find out the policies, challenges, and factors that support the implementation of nationalism and social responsibility values in pesantren life. The background stems from the gap between the normative vision of Islamic education aimed at shaping civilized, tolerant, and participatory citizens and classroom practice, which remains descriptive and memory-based. The study explores: (1) how muwāṭanah values such as equality, social responsibility, and respect for diversity are represented in current SKI materials; (2) how a multidisciplinary design can systematically embed these values into objectives, content, strategies, and assessments; and (3) how the model could be conceptually implemented and evaluated prior to field application. The theoretical synthesis indicates that integrating muwāṭhanah enriches Islamic educational paradigms by combining the integration interconnection framework with fiqh al-muwāṭanah. The proposed model positions teachers as facilitators of value dialogue and learners as active agents connecting Islamic history with contemporary social realities. Conceptually, this integration provides a transformative pathway toward reflective, collaborative, and civic-oriented SKI learning, potentially serving as a prototype for curriculum innovation rooted in Islamic and national values. Further empirical validation through Design-Based Research (DBR) or Research and Development (R&D) is recommended to examine the model’s feasibility and pedagogical impact within Indonesia’s pluralistic and democratic education system.
2025-12-29T05:53:10+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/836 Self Care: Realizing Professionalism and Mental Health for Teachers 2025-12-29T05:55:32+07:00 Eka Wahyuning Tias [email protected] Lilik Sriyanti [email protected] Khusna Widyahrini [email protected]
This study aims to describe the importance of self-care in realizing professionalism and mental health among teachers. This study examines the relationship between religious moderation and the political–legal system shaping its implementation, with a specific focus on Islamic educational institutions. Employing a qualitative approach that integrates literature review and field observations, this research aims to identify the challenges and opportunities associated with embedding religious moderation within the education system from political and legal perspectives. Findings reveal that, despite multiple initiatives to promote religious moderation, several barriers persist, including resistance from certain ideological groups, inadequate legal frameworks, and inconsistent curriculum integration. Moreover, the absence of structured policies and limited government interventions further hinder the effective implementation of moderation principles. Therefore, comprehensive strategies are required, involving stronger political commitment, the establishment of binding legal regulations, and systematic incorporation of moderation principles into educational curricula. Strengthening religious moderation through structured policies and legal mechanisms can institutionalize it as a fundamental component of national education, fostering tolerance and coexistence within Indonesia’s diverse society. Because conduciveness is one of the components of development, then that needs to be maintained among them is the peace of people between religions. Historical facts show that our country is full of disputes between religious people so that peace between religious people can be said to be an aspect that cannot be ignored by the government. The government's efforts in realizing peace through various budget-based programs are good. But when juxtaposed with the role of peace actors at the grassroots, the government's efforts get a critical review. How can grassroots performance create peace that goes beyond the systematic structure of the program? This study aims to analyze the role of FKUB Kebersamaan Klaten which acts as a peacebuilder at the grassroots. The research method is qualitative with interview technique and using various literature sources. The results found first, FKUB Kebersamaan to build peace at the grassroots by integrating religion and secularity, namely the economy, culture, and education. Second, FKUB Kebersamaan is open to collaborate with various parties in their efforts to build peace. Third, the capital of peacebuilding at the grassroots is solidarity and a high sense of family. Using a thematic Qur‘anic interpretation approach, this research systematically collects and analyzes verses related to parental responsibilities in nurturing children‘s faith, ensuring their safety and well-being, supporting intellectual growth, maintaining family continuity, and providing economic security. The analysis reveals that the Qur‘anic guidance on parenting forms an integrated system designed to protect children in a holistic manner. Each dimension of parental duty ranging from religious education, emotional and physical care, intellectual cultivation, and ethical upbringing to financial support aligns with the overarching goal of ensuring children‘s optimal development and long-term welfare. The findings demonstrate that parental responsibilities in Islam are not merely moral directives but constitute a comprehensive framework grounded in the principles of benefit, protection, and human flourishing inherent in maqāṣid al-syarī‗ah. Thirty descriptive texts written by tenth-grade students at SMA N 3 Salatiga were analyzed using qualitative content analysis based on error analysis frameworks. Five major types of auxiliary verb errors were identified: omission, misformation, overgeneralization, misordering, and unnecessary insertion, with omission emerging as the most frequent. These patterns reveal learners’ ongoing internalization of English grammatical structures and highlight the influence of L1 transfer, rule simplification, and emerging fossilization in interlanguage development. Beyond their linguistic significance, the findings underscore how grammatical accuracy contributes to clear expression, reduces misinterpretation, and supports respectful communication in culturally and religiously diverse classrooms. As English increasingly functions as a global lingua franca for interaction across differences, improved auxiliary verb mastery enhances learners’ ability to participate in intercultural dialogue and fosters peaceful, inclusive classroom engagement. The study recommends explicit, contextualized grammar instruction, scaffolded writing support, and iterative corrective feedback to promote both linguistic competence and intercultural communicative readiness. Amidst peace-building efforts after electoral polarization, the language used by political elites plays a crucial role. This study uses a qualitative approach with the critical discourse analysis (CDA) method combined with speech act theory (Searle) and the concept of symbolic violence (Bourdieu). Primary data consists of a video transcript of Syahroni's speech during a working meeting visit to the West Sumatra Regional Police on August 22, 2025, and secondary data include media coverage and public responses on social media. The results show that the utterance 'tolol' is not merely an expressive speech act (emotional outburst), but rather an assertive illocutionary act (assessing) and a directive (delegitimizing) that functions as an ad hominem. This utterance operates as a form of symbolic violence that normalizes verbal aggression in the public sphere. The implication is that the use of this diction directly hinders the creation of positive peace by destroying social trust and strengthening polarization barriers, instead of building deliberative dialogue.
2025-12-29T06:10:30+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/846 Concept Map of Multidisiplinary Studies on Wasathiyah PAI Based on Research and Technology 2025-12-29T06:12:36+07:00 Muchammad Iqbal Chailani [email protected] Abdul Wahab Fahrub [email protected] Gunarti Ika Pradewi [email protected] Gandhes Sembrodo Budy [email protected]
The development of science and technology demands a new approach to Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning that is more contextual, integrative, and adaptable to the challenges of the times. One of the core values that needs to be strengthened in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) is wasathiyah (religious moderation), which is highly relevant in maintaining social harmony in the digital age. The study of wasathiyah in Islamic Religious Education has not been extensively researched in a multidisciplinary and research-based manner, nor has it been explored thru technology. Therefore, this article aims to compile a concept map of the study of Islamic Education wasathiyah with a multidisciplinary approach supported by research and technology integration. This research uses a qualitative-descriptive method with literature study and content analysis techniques applied to various relevant scientific sources, ranging from theology, education, sociology, educational technology, to digital studies. The results of this study are expected to produce a concept map that illustrates the interdisciplinary relationships in understanding and implementing the values of wasathiyah in the context of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. This concept map is also expected to serve as a reference for curriculum development, digital learning design, and strengthening student character in the 5.0 era. Thus, this study not only enriches academic discourse but also makes a real contribution to building inclusive, moderate, and technology-based religious education practices.
2025-12-29T06:11:48+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/844 Teacher Personality Competence Assessment: Assesment Instruments, Methods, and Steps for Instrument Develompment 2025-12-29T06:13:18+07:00 Ehwanti Ehwanti [email protected] Lilik Sriyanti [email protected] Khusna Widhyahrini [email protected]
Assessment of teachers’ personality competence is essential for improving educational quality, as a teacher’s character directly influences students’ moral development and the overall learning process. Personality assessment serves not only as an evaluation tool but also as a foundation for continuous professional development.
2025-12-29T06:13:16+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/839 Critical Perspective: The Influence of Narrative and Tone of Media Broadcasts on Social Unrest (Case Study: Xpose Uncensored Trans 7 about Kyai Pondok Pesantren Lirboyo) 2025-12-29T06:14:28+07:00 Evi Murti Wardhani [email protected] Suryanti Galuh Pravitasari [email protected]
This paper critically analyzes the nexus between biased journalistic practices and their impact on social unrest, through a case study of the Trans 7 'Xpose Uncensored' investigative broadcast concerning the Kyai of the Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) in 2025. The research objective is to identify and dissect how the program's narrative, diction, and tone of voice created a negative framing that delegitimized the religious institution, as well as to measure its influence on polarization and conflict within society. This study employs a qualitative approach with critical content analysis of the broadcast's verbal and non-verbal text (tone of voice), supported by Robert Entman's Framing Theory and a review of the Journalistic Code of Ethics (KEJ) The main findings indicate that 'Xpose Uncensored' systematically utilized a Delegitimizing Frame through three key instruments: (1) Contrasting Diction Choices that juxtaposed the Kyai's luxury with the students' simplicity, (2) A Cynical and Insinuating Tone of Voice by the narrator to guide opinion toward judgment, and (3) Violations of KEJ Articles 1 and 3 by omitting the principle of balance (cover both sides) and mixing facts with editorial opinions The impact of this tendentious framing was the triggering of widespread social unrest, marked by collective anger and strong protests from the pesantren community and the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) organization, who viewed the broadcast as an attack on the dignity of religious scholars. This case culminated in a temporary suspension sanction for the program by the KPI (Indonesian Broadcasting Commission). This paper concludes that the media's failure to adhere to ethics and cultural empathy is a primary source of polarization that potentially divides unity.
2025-12-29T06:14:27+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/837 Dialectics of Curriculum and Digital Content: An Innovative Strategy for Strengthening Wasathiyah Islamic Literacy in the Face of the Post-Truth Era 2025-12-29T06:15:39+07:00 Nabiilah Tsabitul ‘Azmi [email protected] Muhammad Nur Wafa Lutfi [email protected] Mukh Nursikin [email protected]
The post-truth era has presented serious challenges for Islamic education, characterized by the dominance of emotions and subjective opinions over objective facts, as well as the rapid flow of unverified digital information. The younger generation is the group most vulnerable to hoaxes, disinformation, and religious propaganda, which have the potential to foster ideological polarization and intolerance. This context demands the strengthening of Wasathiyah Islamic literacy as a moderating value system based on tawazun (religious tolerance), tasamuh (compassion), and i'tidāl (balanced moderation). However, these efforts face a fundamental dilemma: the dialectic between a static Islamic education curriculum and aggressive digital content, creating a "shadow curriculum" beyond the control of educational institutions. This study aims to analyze curriculum inconsistencies in responding to the challenges of the post-truth era, identify problems with teachers' pedagogical competencies in internalizing Wasathiyah values, and formulate innovative strategies basedon curriculum integration and digital content. The study results indicate that the Islamic Religious Education curriculum remains oriented toward knowledge transfer and memorization, thus under-optimizing critical thinking skills, digital literacy, and contextual learning. Furthermore, teachers face obstacles in implementing transformative pedagogy and utilizing technology as a means of internalizing religious moderation. Innovative solutions are offered through three main pillars: HOTS-based curriculum reform and the 4Cs, transforming teacher pedagogy toward collaborative and digital learning, and developing competitive Wasathiyah digital content as a counter-narrative to extreme ideologies. Thus, the integration of the curriculum and a moderate digital ecosystem serves as an adaptive and anticipatory strategy for building students' ideological resilience and maintaining the relevance of Islamic education amidst post-truth disruption.
2025-12-29T06:15:37+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/876 The Dynamics of Digital Mediation: The Role of Social Media Platform Algorithms in Shaping Narratives of Peace and Political Polarization in Conflict Areas 2026-08-27T14:26:04+07:00 Agus Triyono [email protected]
This study adopts a critical perspective on the role of social media platform algorithms as the primary mediators of contemporary political communication in conflict areas in Asia. The main objective is to analyze the specific mechanisms by which algorithms (including recommendation, ranking, and ad targeting functions) contribute to the amplification of polarizing narratives and the attenuation of peacebuilding narratives. The study uses Mixed Methods by combining In-Depth Interviews (N=18 peacebuilders and technology experts) and Big Digital Data Analysis (N=254,300 posts) from three case studies in Asia: the Papua Conflict, Indonesian Election Polarization, and the Rohingya Crisis. Quantitative results show that Polarization Narratives are 4 times more likely to trigger interactions and spread 6 times faster (Viral Velocity) than Peacebuilding Narratives ($p < 0.001$). Qualitative analysis identified the existence of 'systemic algorithmic bias' driven by the logic of profit, which actively replicates ideological segregation (Modularity Q = 0.88). This study concludes that algorithms act as 'Structural Political Mediators' that inherently hinder digital peacebuilding efforts, demanding a shift from content moderation to socially responsible technological system design reform.
2026-03-18T00:00:00+07:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement##
