The main framework developed in virtue ethics focuses on how character virtues can shape a good life, treat oneself and others correctly, and build a peaceful community. Thus, diversity management is the way the state regulates communities of citizens who represent certain religious identities and also the relationships between other communities. This study uses a qualitative research method with an interdisciplinary approach that integrates the concepts of ethics, sociology of religion, and critical hermeneutics. In this research method, the author constructs the idea of freedom of religion or belief as a public virtue based on virtue ethics in diversity management, specifically religion or belief. This study finds: first, freedom of religion or belief is a form of public virtue; second, virtue is a character trait that must be evident in the habitual actions of individuals and communities in the public sphere. These traits and characteristics form the basis of moral character within a community. Values such as tolerance, respect for the rights of religious freedom, and solidarity among religious communities are lived out in society or communities; third, virtuous activities are activities that are characteristic of religious or belief communities.
Roynaldy Simaremare ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/832 Mon, 08 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Implementation of Islamic Religious Education in the Formation of Religious Culture and Self-Regulated Learning High School Students at the Driving School https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/834
This research aims to implement Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in the formation of religious culture and self-regulated learning High school students in the School Mover Program. This study uses a qualitative approach with observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and documentation to gain a comprehensive understanding of the application of religious values and their influence on character and self-regulated learning students. Data analysis was conducted thematically with the help of NVivo Plus 12 software, which was used for coding, categorization, theme mapping, and visualization of relationship patterns between findings, thereby increasing precision and accuracy in interpreting qualitative data. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of Islamic Religious Education in the driving schools was effective through the instillation of religious values such as honesty, discipline, responsibility, and tolerance. These values were integrated through routine religious activities, teacher role models, and moral inculcation in daily school interactions. Collaboration between the principal, teachers, and the school community was a key factor in building religious culture holistic. The implementation of PAI has been proven to improve self-regulated learning students, as seen from the increased ability of students to manage time, set learning goals, monitor academic behavior, and make independent decisions. In conclusion, the implementation of Islamic Religious Education makes a significant contribution to the formation of religious culture and improvement self-regulated learning students, and support the achievement of the Pancasila Student Profile character. This study recommends increasing the capacity of Islamic Religious Education teachers, stronger policy support, and strengthening religious habituation programs so that religious culture and self-regulated learning students can internalize it consistently and sustainably.
Sri Rokhmiyati, Rahmat Hariyadi, Kastolani Kastolani, Niala Nailus Salwa ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/834 Mon, 08 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Politicization of Islam and Islamization of Politics in Indonesia: A Sociological Perspective https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/838
Valorising religion in politics lays out the social aspect of religion itself, categorically clustered in political sociology of religion. Religion and politics, due to their very nature as social institutions, cannot be separated but must be precisely analysed in a binary perspective. Sociologically, the relationship between these two institutions can take two extreme forms. By nature, religion tends to contribute to society in civilization. By choice, religion can manifest its contribution to society in two ways, either domination or periphery. More specifically on peace studies, therefore, the genealogical problem goes straight to the very peaceful aspect of religion – that is characterized by the esoteric mysticism of religion. As every single religion has its own internal plurality, institutional religion has proved itself to deliver its peaceful aspect to the society. In Indonesia, the existence of “cultural Islam” is often considered as an anti-thesis toward “political Islam”. An indirect logic from this stipulation refers to a possibility that “cultural Islam” has been more successful in delivering the peaceful aspect of Islam rather than “political Islam”. This article aims to take a deeper look at Islam as a mass religion in the Indonesian politics, especially in its politicizing peaceful aspect to the wider community.
Tulus Sudarto ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/838 Mon, 08 Dec 2025 14:32:46 +0000 Nationalism and Social Responsibility Values in Pesantren Life, Challenges of Wasathiyah Islam Among Multi Ethnic StudentNationalism and Social Responsibility Values in Pesantren Life, Challenges of Wasathiyah Islam Among Multi Ethnic Student https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/841
The purpose of this study is to find out the policies, challenges, and factors that support the implementation of nationalism and social responsibility values in pesantren life. The research was conducted in Salatiga city, Indonesia, which is famous for its multiculturalism, races, ethnics, and religions. It took place in a pesantren, namely Madrasah Aliyah Tahfidz al Qur’an (MATIQ) As-Surkati. This is a descriptive, qualitative field study employing a qualitative approach. Interviews, observations, and documentation were employed to gain the relevant data. The research results show that MATIQ As-Surkati educates students in the discourse of wasathiyah Islam, emphasizing nationalism and social responsibility values, through a hidden curriculum that is daily practiced and successfully implemented in pesantrenpolicies, both within and around the pesantren environment.
Mohammad Roisul Ashdaq, Sa'adi Sa'adi, Safinatul Fitriah ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/841 Mon, 08 Dec 2025 14:56:59 +0000 Integration of Muwaṭhanah Principles in the Analysis and Development of Islamic Cultural History Materials Through a Multidisciplinary Approach https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/840
This conceptual study examines the integration of muwāṭhanah (Islamic citizenship values) into the development of Islamic Cultural History (SKI) learning materials through a multidisciplinary approach. The background stems from the gap between the normative vision of Islamic education aimed at shaping civilized, tolerant, and participatory citizens and classroom practice, which remains descriptive and memory-based. The study explores: (1) how muwāṭanah values such as equality, social responsibility, and respect for diversity are represented in current SKI materials; (2) how a multidisciplinary design can systematically embed these values into objectives, content, strategies, and assessments; and (3) how the model could be conceptually implemented and evaluated prior to field application. The theoretical synthesis indicates that integrating muwāṭhanah enriches Islamic educational paradigms by combining the integration interconnection framework with fiqh al-muwāṭanah. The proposed model positions teachers as facilitators of value dialogue and learners as active agents connecting Islamic history with contemporary social realities. Conceptually, this integration provides a transformative pathway toward reflective, collaborative, and civic-oriented SKI learning, potentially serving as a prototype for curriculum innovation rooted in Islamic and national values. Further empirical validation through Design-Based Research (DBR) or Research and Development (R&D) is recommended to examine the model’s feasibility and pedagogical impact within Indonesia’s pluralistic and democratic education system.
Dimas Nuri Ardiansyah, Zainal Arifin, Rafli Hanafi Nugroho ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/840 Mon, 08 Dec 2025 15:22:32 +0000 Self Care: Realizing Professionalism and Mental Health for Teachers https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/836
This study aims to describe the importance of self-care in realizing professionalism and mental health among teachers. Using a descriptive qualitative method, this study examines teachers' experiences and understanding in maintaining a balance between professional demands and personal well-being. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that self-care is an important aspect that helps teachers maintain their physical, mental, and emotional health, thereby positively impacting their work effectiveness and the quality of learning. Self-awareness, workplace support, and school policies that support teacher well-being are the main factors supporting the implementation of self-care. Teachers who are able to manage themselves well are not only more professional, but also create a positive and inspiring learning atmosphere.

Eka Wahyuning Tias, Lilik Sriyanti, Khusna Widyahrini ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/836 Mon, 08 Dec 2025 15:36:08 +0000 Revitalizing Islamic Wasātiyyah in Digital Disruption Era https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/835
In the age of digital disruption, wherever algorithmic personalisation, quick information flows, along with the commercialisation of spiritual content reshape authority and practice, this study examines the opportunities and difficulties for reviving Islamic wasatiyyah (moderation). The goal of the study is to pinpoint systemic factors that undermine moderation, such as young people's low digital religious literacy, misinformation presented as a religious competence, algorithmic echo chambers which magnify exclusivist viewpoints, and institutional delays in adjusting to digital realities. The study highlights the critical need for integrated strategies by synthesising policy documents, recent literature, and a representation from SMA 72 Jakarta using a qualitative analyticaldescriptive approach. Results demonstrate that platform reasoning not only help to spread religious content but also actively mediate the potential for moderation, undermining the principles of justice, tolerance, and balance. Curriculum reform to incorporate technology into religious literacy, partnerships with moderate influencers to create pedagogically sound content, institutional preparedness through digital oversight and crisis response procedures, and collaboration among multiple stakeholders involving schools, pesantrens, government agencies, and platform developers are some of the suggested interventions. This study presents a conceptual model that defines digital knowledge about religion as a crucial skill for youth resilience and operationalises wasatiyyah in digital contexts. The study advances the conversation about how Islamic education can protect moderation and ethical depth in a quickly changing digital environment by tying theory to real-world interventions.
Khomad Subekhi Sujatmoko, Mukh Nursikin, Mukti Wiguna ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/835 Mon, 08 Dec 2025 15:43:03 +0000 Affirming Religious Moderation as a State Doctrine: a Study of Government Regulations, Programs, and Implementation Challenges. https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/858
Religious moderation plays a pivotal role in sustaining social harmony and ensuring an inclusive and equitable society. This study examines the relationship between religious moderation and the political–legal system shaping its implementation, with a specific focus on Islamic educational institutions. Employing a qualitative approach that integrates literature review and field observations, this research aims to identify the challenges and opportunities associated with embedding religious moderation within the education system from political and legal perspectives. Findings reveal that, despite multiple initiatives to promote religious moderation, several barriers persist, including resistance from certain ideological groups, inadequate legal frameworks, and inconsistent curriculum integration. Moreover, the absence of structured policies and limited government interventions further hinder the effective implementation of moderation principles. Therefore, comprehensive strategies are required, involving stronger political commitment, the establishment of binding legal regulations, and systematic incorporation of moderation principles into educational curricula. Strengthening religious moderation through structured policies and legal mechanisms can institutionalize it as a fundamental component of national education, fostering tolerance and coexistence within Indonesia’s diverse society. This study emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach in addressing the political and legal dimensions of religious moderation to ensure its long-term sustainability.
ArIf Gunawan Santoso, Abd Rozak Zakariya ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/858 Mon, 08 Dec 2025 15:59:07 +0000 Forum Kebersamaan Umat Beragama as Local Peace Actors in Klaten Regency https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/830
Indonesia's political system requires conduciveness. Because conduciveness is one of the components of development, then that needs to be maintained among them is the peace of people between religions. Historical facts show that our country is full of disputes between religious people so that peace between religious people can be said to be an aspect that cannot be ignored by the government. The government's efforts in realizing peace through various budget-based programs are good. But when juxtaposed with the role of peace actors at the grassroots, the government's efforts get a critical review. How can grassroots performance create peace that goes beyond the systematic structure of the program? This study aims to analyze the role of FKUB Kebersamaan Klaten which acts as a peacebuilder at the grassroots. The research method is qualitative with interview technique and using various literature sources. The results found first, FKUB Kebersamaan to build peace at the grassroots by integrating religion and secularity, namely the economy, culture, and education. Second, FKUB Kebersamaan is open to collaborate with various parties in their efforts to build peace. Third, the capital of peacebuilding at the grassroots is solidarity and a high sense of family. Fourth, building peace needs to be continued by maintaining, caring for, and fostering peace, as well as creating future generations who uphold the vision and mission of togetherness.
Yesi Yesi ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://conferences.uinsalatiga.ac.id/index.php/cepaso/article/view/830 Mon, 08 Dec 2025 16:06:45 +0000
