Abstract

The purposes of this study: 1) to determine the condition of social interaction before the homeroom technique group guidance was carried out 2) to determine the condition of social interaction after the homeroom technique group guidance was carried out 3) to determine the effectiveness of the homeroom technique group guidance in increasing social interaction in students. This is a quantitative study using one group pretest and posttest which is a test before and after certain treatments. Sources of data in this study is to use a questionnaire and documentation on the subject. The subjects used were class VII students of MTs Roudlotun Nasyiin Mojokerto with a population of 98 students while the sample was 44 students. 22 students in the control class and 22 students in the experimental class. This is based on pretest data of students who have low and moderate social interaction. The results of this study indicate that prior to the implementation of group guidance using the homeroom social interaction technique, students obtained an average score of 95.36 or if in a percentage of 68% which means that they are included in the the medium category, while after the group guidance service was provided using the homeroom technique, the average score was 122.55 or 88% in the high category. This has been proven through the sample paired t-test which obtained a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05, so it can be concluded that the alternative is accepted
