Academic Procrastination Reviewed from Online Game Addiction, Self-Control, and Religiosity of Students at the Faculty of Da'wah, State Islamic University Salatiga

Abstract

This study aims to: 1. Determine the effect of online game addiction on academic procrastination; 2. Determine the effect of self-control on academic procrastination; 3. Determine the effect of religiosity on academic procrastination; 4. Determine the effect of online game addiction, self-control, and religiosity on academic procrastination. This research is quantitative in nature. The sample consists of 60 students from the Faculty of Da'wah from 4 study programs (PMI, KPI, PI, and MD) out of a total population of 600 students. Data collection methods include the use of online game addiction scales, self-control scales, religiosity scales, and academic procrastination scales. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis through the SPSS 25 for Windows program. The results showed that: 1. There was no significant effect of online game addiction on academic procrastination. 2. There is no significant effect between self-control and academic procrastination. 3. There is no significant effect between religiosity and academic procrastination. 4. There is a significant effect between online game addiction, self-control, and religiosity on academic procrastination simultaneously.  (R = 0.459, F = 4.988, p = 0.004 < 0.05, and R2 = 0.211).
